|First and foremost, the last 15 years, my focus has been to build and grow a successful business by helping clients grow their business. Ive found theres no better way to grow your own company then by making sure that your clients grow theirs.
In advertising and marketing we (can) have a direct effect on our clients growth through helping them achieve their business goals. Its how we go about doing it, thats important.
I know how to lead but I also know how to follow, sounds strange, it isnt. Its one thing to inspire, cultivate and grow your employees, its another to know when to stand back and let them drive the bus. I believe that in the advertising and marketing business good leaders should be able to do both. After all nearly all campaigns or projects have multi-discipline teams working together to create brilliant work for the client.
Ive worked across many categories: from extensive CPG (Consumer Package Goods) work to, retail, service companies, travel/tourism, technology and non-profits. And while my focus has been in online marketing my ten years at Leo Burnett gave me first hand practice to the importance of both traditional marketing and online marketing. Especially the importance of having them work together!
|Lately Ive been running a start-up internet marketing company and Ive been immersed in media planning and search engine marketing, creating opportunities to connect a brand or company with their interested audience.
So, yes you could say I do search engine marketing and optimization. From leading a team, to rolling up my sleeves and implementing a search campaign Ive been very involved in SEM for the last few years. I was one of the early Google AdWords Professionals and have been very involved in the progress of search and the tools it offers. However, I look at search as another part of online marketing and in conjunction with online advertising it creates a very powerful way to connect with an audience.
So, online advertising and media planning, yep that too. It all starts with good planning both creative and media, throw in some negotiating and a bit of optimization and youre getting the idea of just some of the things I do.
And I have hands on experience with the tools, from Atlas DMT, Keyword Max, Urchin, Nielson / NetRatings , etc. I know how to use them as well as lead the team that uses them too.
